ANOTHER 30 DAYS IN THE MIX

What's new? Not much. Some recent developments are I'm starting my own SEO / SEM company in order to drum up some freelance work. I'm down to picking two names out and I've already checked for the domains and they're available. I really want to get the business registered with the state before I open my doors so getting paid won't be an issue. I just finished a freelance project and we (my partner and I) had some issues getting paid since neither one of us had a fed tax id, and the guy didn't exactly want to give us cash since he can write off the site as a business expense.

I also have a pretty good idea of what I want the design to look like and have begun writing the content for the site. This should be a fun ride over the next 6 months or so. I pretty amped about going into business for myself. We'll see if my SEO skills are up to the task.

My son came for Spring Break and since I came out to see him in January for his birthday, I couldn't take any more time off to spend with him. We spent the weekend together and went Lacrosse shopping. We dropped some serious cash for his gloves (at least my Moms chipped in $50 so it wasn't horrible) and got him some decent elbow pads. I also picked up a stick so we could play catch. Unfortunately, it rained most of the weekend, so we only got one chance to play outside. After he started fooling around with my stick, he said he liked mine better so I told him he coould take itback to school with him but needed to bring it back if he wanted us to be able to play catch together.

One little hitch was when his Mom emailed me about him downloading an R rated movie and getting busted at school. I was more concerned about him doing sketchy things when we weren'y home, and he confessed he was actually covering for another guy at school who was a senior and who could've gotten kicked out if he got busted so he just made up the story about downloading at my place. Bren wasn't happy about him throwing us under the bus and making me look like a bad parent. I guess I don't really care what the fuck Karis thinks. She's so insecure and has a host of other issues she'll never outgrow - I stopped thinking her opinion mattered to me a LONG LONG time ago. All I can do is try and develop my relationship with my son. If it works,it works, if not, I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Besides the little controversy about the DVD, it's been pretty quiet around mainstreet USA. Nationally there's a ton of stuff going on.

I'm convinced Obama is an idiot. He bails out the banks, then the auto industry. He hands over the cash with no questions asked to the banks, but makes all the auto companies jump through these stupid hoops by making them draw up plans to show the goverment it's got a secure long term plan. Then he comes out and says their plans aren't good enough. Seriously?

Could it be they got burned by the banks and suddenly are realizing what they're doing? Here's a good idea, why don't you make EVERYBODY draw up a plan before you fork over BILLIONS of dollars to them? Clearly he doesn't have a plan, doesn't know what he's doing or a combination of both.

I'm not even going to start on the Treasury Secretary who doesn't pay his taxes, but at least he got grilled by a senator who asked him point blank if he thought his plan to seize private businesses was radical. Pretty funny stuff:



Besides the country completely going socialistic under Chairman Obama's watch, everything else is fine.

i'm holding my breath to see if my Manchester United Red Devils can hang on the premier league title and give them two titles this year. Liverpool is playing out of their minds and have dispatched Real Madrid 4-0, smoked Aston Villa (who were in 4th place) 4-1, and then smoked us 4-0. They're on FIRE right now and I'm hoping with a game in hand, we can hold on.

Well, time to get back to the grind. More on my business and some other random stuff later. . . maybe. . .30 days from now?
